This Hispanic Heritage Month, we are honored to spotlight Jasmine — a wife, boy mom, and photographer whose journey beautifully blends family, culture, and creativity. The owner and photographer behind the lens of LeLu Captures……
Jasmine was born and raised in Arizona and is now embracing life as a stay-at-home mom to her two little ones (plus their sweet dog, Milo). Married for nearly seven years, she cherishes this season of motherhood, soaking up time with her babies, enjoying coffee, cooking, and even hosting dance parties in the living room with her family.
Her Hispanic heritage has shaped so much of who she is today. For Jasmine, family has always been at the center of everything — from celebrating small moments to gathering for weekend carne asadas. She treasures speaking Spanish with her children, teaching them the language so they can connect deeply with their grandparents, and passing down her mother’s recipes, like tamales and posole, that are staples in her family traditions. Jasmine credits her mom as her biggest inspiration, describing her as the sweetest and most hardworking woman she knows. Hearing her mother’s story of beginning work at seven years old and moving to the U.S. without knowing the language has instilled resilience, humility, and kindness in Jasmine’s life.
For Jasmine, Hispanic Heritage Month is not just a celebration — it’s a reminder. It’s a time to honor her roots, teach her children to be proud of their heritage, and reflect on the sacrifices made by generations before her.
Her love for photography grew out of her love for family. After her first son’s newborn photo session, Jasmine felt drawn to the art of capturing memories. She invested in her first camera, found a mentor, and poured herself into learning the craft. Today, she finds the most joy in portrait photography, especially maternity and family sessions. “I love capturing the beauty of life and that sweet glow of soon-to-be moms,” she shares. She also treasures family portraits, where laughter, hugs, and candid moments become lasting memories.
Two sessions stand out most to her: family Christmas photos with her husband and kids, and photographing Holy Thursday and Good Friday at her church. Both experiences deepened her appreciation for how photography preserves love, faith, and tradition.
Like many moms balancing work and family, Jasmine admits that it hasn’t always been easy. Growing her photography business while raising two kids is a challenge, but she reminds herself why it matters. Her family inspires her to keep going, and she hopes her photos bring people joy, allowing them to relive the special moments they hold close.
Being part of Arizona’s Hispanic community brings Jasmine a deep sense of belonging. She loves the way culture is celebrated here — through food, faith, family, and the support everyone shares. With her camera in hand, she honors that heritage, capturing families, traditions, and everyday moments that tell the story of her community.
When asked what advice she’d share with young Hispanic women pursuing photography, Jasmine says: “If photography is something you love, then follow your heart and pursue it. Do your best, keep learning, and trust that your unique perspective has value to share with the world.”
Looking ahead, Jasmine hopes to continue growing her photography business — experimenting with new techniques, learning as much as she can, and perfecting her art. But at the heart of it all, her dream is simple: to keep creating beautiful photos and making people happy.
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate Jasmine not just as a photographer, but as a storyteller, a mother, and a proud Hispanic woman honoring her culture with every image she captures.
