Moms it is only one more day until Mother’s Day!   I think we should start preparing ourselves for the big day tomorrow.  So, I thought I’d share a little encouragement to shake you out of your quarantine slump.

First, go ahead and grab that Preference by LOreal color and put it in your hair because you are worth it.  Yes, you will want to “pre” shower because girl it is going to take some time to get everything shaved and that dye washed out of your hair.  That way tomorrow can be a quick shower! Now take a little time to polish those raggedy nails with the Dollar Store polish that you picked up last week.  Hopefully, it is a neutral color because by Monday your index fingers and thumb won’t be wearing any color!

Try on the Target dress you picked up at the drive through yesterday.  I know…..you just aren’t sure what size you are any more.  It’s okay….we all are a little unclear except we are pretty sure it’s only ONE size bigger.  Remember to tell your husband that tomorrow when you walk out of the room dressed WITHOUT jewelry he is to quote to you Sierra Rae’s line “no ma’am! You get back in that room and put some jewelry on girl!”  So, it is a good idea to pick out your jewelry today for the dress…if it fits.  If it doesn’t revert back to scavenging your closet for your “larger” clothing.  Maybe you will still have a pair of earrings that will match!  Oh yeah, you will need shoes.  Actual shoes. Not your house shoes because I know they are almost worn out from over use in these last months.  High heels aren’t required for Mother’s Day at home this year, but friend a nice little wedge would be really cute!

Makeup.  Do any of you remember how to apply it?  I know there’s probably a refresher course on YouTube somewhere. And if you’re all out of the good stuff I saw some shadow and face powder at the Dollar store too.  You have time……that’s why you’re preparing today.  The lipstick probably isn’t your color…..but put it on anyway.  It will light up your face. I know you haven’t had any color on those lips for awhile!  Try to refrain from the really bright cheek color.  Remember it’s been awhile, you don’t want to over do it.  Ease back into the makeup routine.

Text your kids and include your husband on the thread any last minute gift ideas in case your kids don’t come through or are still to little to shop on their own.  Remember, you don’t really want them to go anywhere to buy gifts so think convenience store, drive through fast food, drive through drugstore or curbside boutique.  Maybe even just ask for a McDonald’s gift certificate.  You really are ready to start enjoying your coffee again.  When Starbucks opens back up you just aren’t going to remember how to order those crazy names for small, medium and large. And I just don’t think those yoga pants, no makeup and your husband’s ball cap is getting it done with those cute guys at Dutch Bros all up in your window!  Prepare your heart today to be gracious about what ever shows up with your name on it.  It really was their only choice!

Well I think you will be ready to have the best quarantine Mother’s Day ever!  Maybe next year we can have Mother’s Day Weekend!  Oh a couple of last things……..

Let your kids know how happy you are to be THEIR MOM.  Maybe you could even jot down a note using actual pen and paper to tell them!  Praise the Lord that He entrusted you to be a Mom.  Pray for all the Moms who might have a tough day tomorrow.  They will appreciate your kindness.  Give a sweet word to a special someone who stands in your life for your Mom.

Okay….are you thinking of your girlfriend who needs to hear this today and laugh?  Go ahead and share it with her!  We all need to laugh a little more today and everyday!

Happy Mother’s Day! May God Bless You!
