We had a wonderful opportunity to bless Heather Chambers recently at our Women at the Well bible study.  Heather is a sweet stay at home mom who home schools her two children.  She is a task master when it comes to learning and creating with the kids!  Her husband is a full time elementary teacher who has his work cut out for him with those little learners!  So we thought Heather might enjoy a little pampering just for her!  We purchased all our clothes and accessories from Target.  For so many of us this is an easy and affordable place to add to our wardrobe.  Randey McCarthy is a professional hairdresser who donated her services and Jenna Mayfield is a stay at home mom that loves to make people feel beautiful with makeup on! So many thanks to those ladies for giving Heather a special day!

I asked Heather if she would write about her experience so here it is in her words………..

When Carrie asked if I would agree to a makeover, I was a little hesitant since clothes and makeup and the like are not high on my priority list. It did seem intriguing though. The fact that Carrie was practically jumping up and down with excitement while asking sealed the deal!

The makeover was during the Bible study time, and it was nice to drop the children off for childcare and then not need to be thinking of household chores, our animals, homeschooling, the garden, or a myriad of other things. Randey  did my hair, trimming a bit and restyling, and Jenna  did my makeup. Both did an amazing job, and I really enjoyed our conversations during the process. Carrie had chosen an outfit complete with shoes and a purse, all in colors I would normally choose but with a different – in a good sense! – style. There was a definite transformation, but they all still kept it true to who I am. It was exciting to see it as a different everyday look, not just something that would be for a special event. I was pleasantly surprised with the results when I finally was allowed to look in the mirror!

While I spent the rest of the week in my regular mode with family visiting us from out of state, I look forward to wearing the outfit again. I think I will be visiting Target soon too to look for more colors of those pants or similar ones! I doubt I will wear makeup more often than the few times a year I already do, but I was really impressed with how natural it looked, and hope I can replicate that. As for the hair, I may have to consider bangs a bit more. My hairdresser has been pushing for me to try them for awhile, and after seeing myself with them, I just may be able to take that leap.

Many thanks to Carrie and those who helped this happen! I had a wonderful time, and it was so sweet of them to do so much work without any focus on themselves.

Sweet Flower Home enjoyed the opportunity to show some love to one of our hard working moms.  We think being a mom is a very important job!
