“She is far more precious than rubies.” – Proverbs 31:10

At the Sweet Flower Home Farmhouse Blessing, all the guests were asked to write their favorite scriptures on the walls of the farm house. Of course I chose the powder room. I chose the powder room because not only as the resident guest blogger do I cover “beauty” on the blog but that’s what speaks to me as a person. “In the Victorian times they kept the term “powder room” to discreetly excuse oneself. Some women still refer to the half bath as the powder room, where “powdering your nose” was a phrase used again as a euphemism. When I think of the a powder room I think of makeup, hair spray, old Hollywood dressing rooms, and the back stages of Nashville where Dolly once re-applied her lipstick.

I also am obviously probably the epitome of a “girly girl” so a lot of Bible verses that are truly special to me have to do with being a girl, and the beauty of it. I have my favorites that don’t relate to beauty at all but when I turn to the love of fashion in my life I think of those scriptures. There was not a more perfect place to write them in pink of course……than the powder room. When thinking about scriptures I wanted to write mine in the walls of the powder room forever. I want them to be reassuring, make a girl feel confident, and graceful. I chose verses that also reflected that being a girl is truly beautiful.  Taking care of yourself is making sure you are coming out as the best you every morning that you can possibly be, which is what I feel God wants from us. He wants us to be the best version of ourselves that He has created, and given gifts to go out and use in this world. When we are the best versions of ourselves and we feel confident, I think only good can come out of the day ahead.

So when you visit the farmhouse powder you nose and go out into the world and be beautiful!
