This is so exciting I can’t completely believe it is happening!  Well today the first walls went up on the farmhouse!  My contractors, Karl T Brim Construction, sent me a text this morning to let me know I need to get to the farmhouse with my camera in tow.  So out of bed I jumped and off I went!  It was so interesting to watch the guys as the carefully hoisted the wall up and in place.  It took some muscles for sure!  The long wall that you see is the garage door wall.  That is on the west side of the house.  You can see the picture of our kids roping through the garage door opening.  That is exactly why we are building this house!  We want to be close to the arena and here was the perfect example tonight! The small wall is the south wall of the office.  Grady is standing on the inside of one of two windows that will look out to the front yard.  He put my tape measure on his pocket and declared himself “a worker”!  That is where I will be blogging from in the spring!

I walked the house this morning with the contractors to check all the wall layout and placements.  We did find that the guest closet was a little big so we are going to take a couple of feet from it and add it to the master closet.  This will be a more beneficial use of our space.  We also found that the entry to the bath was arched at the top.  I am going to  have it straight across.  All the lines on the farmhouse are very square so we are going to stay with that architectural design.

Today was the first time that I could really get a feel for the ceiling height and the size of the windows.  As you will see I am a window and light lover!

So thanks for stopping by! I will post more pictures soon!
