The farmhouse is really getting close!  We had the concrete extras poured last week.  The biggest addition is the driveway up to the garage.  We made this so it will double as a basketball court!  There is a wire grid underneath the concrete to strengthen it.  They also did not make the large joints, which is tough on your ankles when you have a very competitive game of basketball going.  A man came out with a machine that made cuts in the concrete that look like a grid.  This will be great for our future basketball games.  We added a four foot wide sidewalk that will go from the driveway around to the front door with no steps on it.  This way it is clear sailing for a wheelchair or someone who has difficulty with stairs to come right into the front door!  Around the side of the garage on the north side of the house we put an additional slab that will come off the garage door.  This will house the air conditioning fan and also be a good place for a large garbage can.  It will help the dirt factor into the house also!

The slab to the north side of the house is where we put the grandkids hand prints.  We were missing Lucas because he was out of town but we got Grady and Cooper in the concrete forever!  I hope that when they play basketball there they will remember how little they once were!  It was quite entertaining as you can see from the pictures!  Cooper wasn’t really excited about putting his hands in the grey, gushy stuff that he’d never seen before!  Grady loved it!  We will get Lucas to put his little hand in the next concrete pour!

Thanks for stopping by!  Sweet Flower Home and the farmhouse will have a lot more coming in the next weeks!
