Hey friends I thought it might be time to introduce myself to so many of you who have found your way to Sweet Flower Home. I am a third generation farmer, married to a third generation farmer. We live on the farm and love the agricultural way of life. We raised three kids that all graduated from college, went on some life adventures, and landed back in our hometown. We now have 9 grandchildren and get to enjoy our big cloud of chaos and love on a daily basis. So all the kids, in-laws and grandkids help with many of the events and activities we do here at Sweet Flower Home.

My passion is hospitality. I think Christ calls us to practice hospitality as a way of life. Hospitality, I believe, is service to others through kindness, comfort and respect. Extending a warm welcome to someone into your life is how I strive to live. Through the markets, workshops, hosting of events, or setting events up for clients we try to make them feel special. One of the biggest compliments I can have given to me is when people come to my home and say “it feels so cozy in here.” That is my love language!

We have been jumping into all kinds of adventures around the Farmhouse! We reinvented our big Fall Market that really got us going last year into The Teeny Tiny Fall Market that we are hosting in our sweet Little White Cottage that has really transformed over the last year. We are staying busy designing bridal and baby showers for customers and also managing the design and hosting of weddings!

It turns out though the one thing that has gotten us a whole lot of attention was something we stumbled on to…….our Farmhouse School. We were at the point of “COVID life is about to drive us crazy” and then realized we needed to make lemonade out of lemons. It was “back to school days” and no one was going back to school, in person anyway. So were moved by a sermon from our pastor that said this is really the time you need to be most generous. The most generous thing we could think of was to bring our farm workers children into our home to help them navigate online school. We are strong believers in education and treating our employees with respect. So we brought in 10 kids and started the school. We were fortunate enough to be featured nationally by Fox News. We have been appreciative of so many kind texts, emails, letters and donations by people who don’t even know us, but have a heart for education and ministry! Needless to say, we have fallen in love with kids!

Sweet Flower Home is all about making you feel welcome! I try to spread the word of hospitality through Sweets. I did a lot of dessert making during “Shelter in Place” quarantine because I do love Sweets! I love Flowers. We grow sunflowers on our farm. But Home is where my heart is! I hope someday you can visit!

Blessings to you!
