Well when you get the drywall put up on those bones the house really starts to become a home!! It is so amazing how much it changes the house. Once the drywall is up and you can’t see through the walls any longer it finally gives you the opportunity to really feel the space! The hallways got a whole lot bigger! The grandkids room is slightly smaller than I thought it would be, but the built in bunk beds are going to be so much fun!! The guest room is bigger than I thought it would be! I love everything about the big open office with all it’s windows looking out to the front yard!
The kitchen still is a little hard to tell it’s dimensions with no cabinets or island. But I’m loving the floating shelves on the back wall!
The tape and texture on the drywall is a messy business for sure. The texture is a very smooth surface. I just love the look of it. It also had a light yellow tint to it. So the farmhouse went from pink to yellow in no time at all! Now picking out the paint colors for the actual wall colors has been a tough job! I keep hoping I don’t have to repaint the rooms when the first color drys! Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Thanks for stopping by! We are making lots of progress, so I am hoping to catch you up soon. Keep checking the blog page!
How fun! As a designer at an architecture firm, I love reading about the progress from the other side. Looks great!
