Hey photographers we are opening bookings for cotton field photo sessions! We are so thankful for the huge response on the sunflower fields. We were amazed that so many people love sunflowers as much as we do! We have enjoyed getting to know so many of you and being able to say hello to your clients. Now on to the cotton fields!

Let me take just a moment to help you understand how the cycle of our cotton fields work. Our cotton matures (turns white) a little later than many fields around the valley. We use a practice called double cropping. We harvest our onions and then plant cotton behind them. We get two crops in one year on our ground. So that’s why our cotton is behind other farms that you might see. The cotton is now starting to lose it’s leaves and each day more bolls open and more leaves drop to reveal the white lint. That is what gives the field it’s white beauty.

We will be booking sessions November 1st through November 20th. We recommend that you keep on eye on social media as we post what the stage the cotton is at. That way as a photog you can determine the amount of “white” that you will need for your client. There is the possibility that we will be able to book a little further than November 20th depending on the cotton maturity. We will let you know once we are closer to the date.

Please take a look at the Photography Tab on the website to see pricing and details.

Thought you might enjoy a look back in time with this cotton farmer’s wedding bouquet. My husband and I are third generation farmers so as a nod to our parents I had cotton and wheat incorporated into my bouquet 37 years ago. The other picture is of my husband Gary and I with our first born Jacob. We have been doing family pictures in the cotton for many years! If you would like to learn a little bit about cotton take a look at the blog post titled Cotton 101 for some pics and harvesting innovations.

We appreciate you all and your hard work for your clients to have beautiful memories!

See you on the farm!
