Where Agriculture Meets Hospitality

Meet Carrie

Hi! I’m Carrie Mayfield!

My passion is to share hospitality and agriculture. I want to encourage people to make others welcome in our homes, on the road and in our everyday life! I want to share how our food and fabric is grown on the farm. In these blog posts I hope that I can inspire you through our beautiful farmhouse, days on the farm and the building of relationships that matter.

My husband, Gary and I farm in Arizona. We grow vegetables, cotton, alfalfa, and grain.

We have been married for almost 38 years and have 3 terrific children, who are married to great people and 11 grandchildren. You will get to know them here also!

I have a degree from the University of Arizona in Agricultural Journalism. I have freelanced for Agricultural and Rodeo publications, spent time as a substitute teacher in my children’s classrooms, worked side by side with my husband on the farm and raised three kids! In recent years I have spent my time as an event coordinator/decorator for all the different organizations I’m involved in with my church, community and for friends.

I decided to become a blogger to share some of my life experiences on the farm and at home as well as inspire you to practice hospitality in your everyday life! So enjoy getting to know my family here at Sweet Flower Home!

I can’t wait to hear from you!

Carrie

Sweet Flower Home

What started as a place to share some progress on our family home and some lessons from life, has turned into something more. Sweet Flower Home is about hospitality and farm living. Our hope is to inspire others to the lost art of making people feel at home and welcome. And to help people better understand where their food and fabric comes from on the farm. From our blog posts to our events we want to help people find a way to make the world better.
